Seven things I wish everyone I knew about me; Part two

I hate my name and when people mispronounce it

Yes, My name is the title of a song..well aware. Please stop mentioning it and singing it to me. No I wasn’t named after the song, I was named after my grandfather. My name is pronounced how it is spelled, this is especially annoying when I am right in front of you and tell you my name and people always repeat it back wrong. When someone repeats it back right I feel like congratulating them on winning. It has gotten to the point where if you haven’t heard me after the third time and still say it wrong, call me whatever you want..joanne; fine whatever. I’ll answer.

 

I have owned over thirty websites & a domain

I have been making websites since 1998 and have owned many personal sites (all hosted, by many different people), fansites, fanlistings and I had a domain for a year when I was seventeen.

 

 

I completed a book series when I was eighteen

The series was Cast Of Love and Had five books…it was complete. I began writing it when I was thirteen years old and completed book five at eighteen. Unfortunately the series was on my computer when it crashed and I lost everything including the series. The series featured two twin girls in high school; Mindy and Ronnie. I have considered updating and bring the series back…maybe I will.

 

I taught myself HTML from a book when I was thirteen

My father helped me build a one page webpage when I was thirteen years old on his work domain, in 1996 and then gave me a book on HTML and from there I taught myself to code.

 

It annoys me when people believe blogs didn’t exist before 2007

I read a blog post last week where someone was giving their blogging history and there was a quote in there that said something like blogging wasn’t a thing before 2007..ah blogging has been around since the late 90s. There is an article floating around about the history of blogs…gotta find the link.

 

I hate when people lie and then when caught they try to backtrack

Don’t lie to me, just don’t do it. Truth always comes out in the end and is it really worth it to tell me you saw my cousin when you know you didn’t; like I don’t talk to her?

 

When people try to talk to people through me

SO has this friend who messages me on FB to deliver messages to him, like he did tonight. Last time he messaged me I got called a bitch…boo you have his number, you know where we live..i’m not message girl.

Otherwise perfect books ruined by an out of nowhere x-rated scene

Everyone who knows me knows that I would rather stay home and read then do just about anything else,including dealing with people…sleeping when I should…eating when I should, I can go on but I won’t. I try to branch out to new authors and subscribe to a number of author newsletters, follow some authors on twitter, facebook, bookbub, goodreads, ect. There is a very good reason why I tend to stick to the same authors though, I call them my TOP TWO and those are Victoria Laurie and Kimberly Raye.

That reason is they write about sex without me feeling like I stumbled onto a porno in book form, these two are what I call perfect authors…Kimberly Raye uses a bit more detail then Victoria does, but it’s not overly x-rated…it doesn’t make me feel like I need to take a shower afterward.

You can write about sex without the details, I as a reader don’t want to know how big his dick is or how wet she is…really? let us use our imagination, that is the best part of reading a book is picturing it in my head…you are painting way to many details…

Why I watch: Her game play is different, it is filled with drama and keeps me interested. She’s funny and she’s real. Her videos aren’t over edited and she knows how to laugh at herself if she mispronounces something like a name or a word.

Seven things I wish that everyone knew about me

I really hate when people comment on my height:

I know I am tall but stop asking me how tall I am and making dumb comments about it. You can’t find anything else to ask me about that doesn’t relate to my height like my name.

I don’t mind helping people but I hate being taken advantage of:

I have a big heart when it comes to helping people and I always get fucked over or taken advantage of. People seem to thing I am supposed to help them because we are friends but when I do, I never get the help in return if I need it.

I have been blogging since I was sixteen 

I have been making websites since 1998 and blogging since 1999, before wordpress. I actually used to blog by hand, manually and used javascript comment popups.

I am really lazy and unmotivated at times

Sometimes I don’t want to do anything which makes it hard being a writer and owning a blog. I have to force myself to blog sometimes and I have a million novels that are half completed. This annoys my SO btw, he is the complete opposite of me.

I was bullied in school

I don’t like to talk about it but I had a couple of experiences that were horrible for me and is one of the reasons why I dropped out of high school at seventeen. One of the more damaging was when I was in the fifth grade and hit in the eye with an acorn by an eighteen year old, when I was walking back to my aunts house from the bus stop after school.

I was in an abusive relationship

For three years I was in an emotional and physically abusive relationship, even over ten years later it still gets swept under the rug by him and his family.

I have a hard time opening up to people

I have been hurt a lot by people who were really close to me so when people ask me why I like them or love them, I can’t put it in to words. I guard my heart really carefully because of things that happened in the past by people I trusted with my life.

How NOT to deal with bad neighbors

It’s six in the morning and you have just been woken up yet again by a neighbor who has their TV so loud it is shaking the furniture in your apartment and you have just snapped since you have to deal with this shit every fucking day.

You can call management but management doesn’t give a fuck and won’t do shit, so what do you do?

You can do what I did and pound on the wall and yell at them to turn their TV down….maybe it will work or maybe they will just turn it up louder.

You can wish that the TV speakers will blow which is a possibility considering that they sound like shit.

You can get yourself some earplugs and deal with it.

 

 

 

Dear JOANNE PUNCH,

We get advertisements for Spectrum (Time Warner) all the time in the mail because that is the company the building uses for internet. Now SO and I have been talking about getting a connection of our own for months now and I called over the summer and it was one hundred dollars which at the time was not doable for us.

Last week I was tossing old mail in the trash and came across an advertisement I was saving for some reason. According to the advertisement it is now only twenty dollars so I called and checked to see if I would have to pay for anything up front. I don’t and I have an appointment this morning which is why I am up so fucking early.

Later that evening I was going through my email and came across the conformation email with my account information and date/time they were coming to install the box.

The email was addressed to; JOANNE PUNCH and I thought that is not my name.

I called to have the fix my name, I told the women I spoke with my name and although I have been told that I talk really fast…Jolene and Joanne don’t sound a like in my head. Although when someone asks my name and I tell them….they always repeat something completely different back to me..usually Joanne or jo’elle. 

The really funny part about this is when I called to have them fix my name, the guy who I spoke to asked if I ever had spectrum in the past and I told him I had but it was about eight years ago. He informed me that when I linked my social to the account the spelling of my name popped up with my old accounts.

How do you get someone’s name wrong when the correct name/spelling is staring you in the face?

Sims 4 & Health Stuff

Today is my SO’s birthday and we probably aren’t doing anything because I feel like shit…yeah still. I don’t have the upper respiratory infection anymore but now I am having bad stomach pain. So I have been pretty much doubled over in pain..can’t sleep, can barely eat and am miserable which is pretty much what my life was like seven years ago for three months straight…doctors ran lots of tests and everything turned up fine..who knows.

Anyway before the november seventh update broke all the mods in the sims 4, I had the wicked whims mod installed (not for anyone below 18) and I am pretty sure it was this mod that did this to my toddlers made in CAS (as it wasn’t happening before)…. 

 

 

They all had glowing eyes, like hers: she looks like a baby demon, wtf.  Some had glowing red eyes like hers, some glowed yellow and some glowed blue….like my game was possessed.  It only happened with the toddlers made in CAS though…not the adults.

 

Then I figured out the new update broke wicked whims and other mods when CAS would open but wouldn’t let me do anything so I just removed them all for now…until they get updated.

Not really doing anything today, watched Jeepers Creepers three on Tuesday night, yeah not scary. SO and I thought it was really dumb and everyone we’ve talked too thought the same. Really sucks because we were both looking forward to the movie and they could have made it not come out until next year around Halloween and made it…idk better.

Not feeling 100%

I’m really sick and I haven’t felt like being on the computer doing anything other then binge watching and I’m proud to say I am almost caught up on The Big Bang Theory….I just finished season ten.

I have been leaving my phone on silent and haven’t really been leaving my apartment, The main reason is I don’t want to get anyone sick with whatever I am sick with. I’d put money on it’s probably an upper respiratory infection.

Anyway, I am drinking tea that my wonderful SO bought me today and wishing I could breathe so I can go back to sleep.

Good Morning Plus Freebies

I got called by toys r us yesterday, they are having group interviews on Thursday so I have an interview Thursday evening. I’d be much more excited about this if I wasn’t sick and didn’t feel like shit. The job is seasonal but I wasn’t expecting to be pulled in for an interview this soon.

ToastyEgg has a ton of sweepstakes going on, She posts sweepstakes that are off site but she also has ones that she does, you can enter daily and you will be signed up for her newsletter but its worth it for a sweepstake entry.

Today is sample day over at PinchMe , samples go live at noon so if you aren’t signed up I suggest you do so before noon est. Also login to the site before noon and see if you have samples (and claim them) ASAP, it says sample day runs until 3PM but it runs until they run out of samples.

Also I got an email this morning from SampleSource that they will be having samples soon, so sign up for them as well.

I took pictures of my goodie box yesterday, the post will be up later today. If there wasn’t a time I needed these companies to send me my money via paypal it’s today. I want to get sugar (drinking coffee without sugar is doable but not ideal and I need some cough medicine).
