Five Books on my TBR List

My TBR list is huge and I must admit I tend to do a lot more re-reading, then first time reading and getting through my huge pile of ebooks. For the next month I am going to get through at least five books in my pile and I have already sent them over to my kindle so there will be no excuses.

Uglies by Scott Westerfeld

I heard good things about this series, the description sounds good so I will give it a try. If I like it, I’ll read the whole series..if not then at least I read this one.

Fragile Like Us by Sara Barnard

I’ve been wanting to read this since before it came out so I think this is the first one I will tackle.

They Both Die at the End by Adam Silvera

been wanting to read for awhile

Out on the Net by Rick R Reed

this just sounds interesting

Here we are now by Jasmine Wanga

been on my list for awhile.

I will rate/review the books as I finish them.

Five Book Related Subscription Boxes I want to try

There is a subscription box for everything under the sun and I have tried a couple. I love reading, everyone who knows me knows this. I used to frequent the library but I find it is easier to avoid people if I read ebooks or buy paperbacks from amazon.

I would like to try these book related subscription boxes in the next couple of years (to be realistic, I don’t have extra money unless I work online);

My Coffee and Book Club: https://www.cratejoy.com/subscription-box/my-coffee-and-book-club/

I love coffee (would drink it all day if I could) and Books, It’s not that expensive either. Twenty two dollars a month. You can choose the genre or let them surprise you.

Chocolate and A Book: https://www.cratejoy.com/subscription-box/andbook/

This one ships from the UK and says fifteen dollars a month, has a lot of five star reviews. May have to put this at the top of the list.

My Thrill Club: https://www.cratejoy.com/subscription-box/my-thrill-club/

You can pick between three genres or be surprised, This one is only ten dollars a month. I don’t read many horror, Thriller or Mysteries (unless they are lighthearted). It’s on my list because its on the cheaper side.

My YA Reading Club: https://www.cratejoy.com/subscription-box/my-ya-reading-club/

For only ten dollars a month you get two hardcovers??? This is going straight to the top of my list. They have mixed reviews, but it looks like you get a movie with the books.

and last but not least

Bookish Book Clubs: https://www.cratejoy.com/subscription-box/bookishlys-tea-and-book-club/

Coffee & Vintage book club is ten dollars, Tea & Vintage book club is thirteen dollars and Classic is sixteen. If I subscribed I would get the Coffee one, has good reviews but I would probably try one of the above first.

Have you ever subscribed to a subscription box, Book or otherwise?

I’m Around

I bought a used computer last week which got here Friday, I was going to use it for parts to fix mine but the screen on this one is broken too. I am able to use it though and I got it for eighty dollars so…

I am trying to stay on top of my email, I may have to do a mass delete of my personal one. SO bought me a kindle fire a couple weeks ago, I have the seven so I have been doing a lot of reading and playing Sims Mobile which I like way better then Freeplay. I was able to install the sims 4 on this laptop and I bought the Laundry stuff pack but I haven’t really played yet.

I have been on twittter and on a couple of groups on facebook.

Otherwise perfect books ruined by an out of nowhere x-rated scene

Everyone who knows me knows that I would rather stay home and read then do just about anything else, including dealing with people…sleeping when I should…eating when I should, I can go on but I won’t. I try to branch out to new authors and subscribe to a number of author newsletters, follow some authors on twitter, facebook, bookbub, goodreads, ect. There is a very good reason why I tend to stick to the same authors though, I call them my TOP TWO and those are Victoria Laurie and Kimberly Raye.

That reason is they write about sex without me feeling like I stumbled onto a porno in book form, these two are what I call perfect authors…Kimberly Raye uses a bit more detail then Victoria does, but it’s not overly x-rated…it doesn’t make me feel like I need to take a shower afterward.

You can write about sex without the details, I as a reader don’t want to know how big his dick is or how wet she is…really? let us use our imagination, that is the best part of reading a book is picturing it in my head…you are painting way to many details…
